A delightful 19th Century Staffordshire figurine featuring Queen Victoria’s oldest child, also named Victoria, sitting on an oversized King Charles Spaniel. This is special for several reasons, first, the dog is not facing forward as most Staffordshire dogs are, Victoria is astride and the dog is holding a basket of flowers in his mouth. This would have been one of a pair, for decoration on a mantle, and the mate would have featured Victoria’s second child, Edward. While a pair would be terrific, we have found that “onesies” are just as desirable! England, circa 1870, wonderful condition.
