A wonderful, large English oak drop leaf, gate leg “Wake” table with bobbin turned legs. The term “Wake” came from the days when funerals were held at home and the deceased was laid out on the long table in the “front parlor” and relatives and friends would sit with the body for several days. A lot of eating, drinking, smoking and story telling went along with the vigil! We doubt that any body has been lying atop this charming table…if only it could talk!
