A pair of circa 1880 copper lustre Staffordshire King Charles Spaniels. This expensive copper glaze was hand painted after the first firing and then re-fired to create the shiny “copper lustre”. This technique was also done with gold, silver and tin to produce brilliant colors. An impressive duo, they would add visual interest to a mantel, book shelves or grouped with other Staffordshire Spaniels on a table…fun to collect!
