A handsome pair of 19th Century Staffordshire King Charles Spaniels with an expensive copper lustre glaze, hand painted in between kiln firings. This pair was decorated by an experienced potter, very nice detail to the face, overall sophisticated look. In 1800’s England, children were often working in the potteries and painting Staffordshire figures…their painting was more naive, this pair was decorated by a veteran painter. We love these copper Spaniels, they add color and brightness to any setting!
